Sadly, there have been some injuries due to falling from the inclined monkey bars at the playscape and whilst this element has been designated low risk and checked regularly by RoSPA, GSPC and Shelford Playscape have agreed to act on the side of caution.

The bars will therefore shortly be removed, leaving the timber frame in place and the committee will look into a replacement play element here. Given the strong developmental and strength building value that monkey bars offer everyone, the committee are also looking into the possibility of installing different style of monkey bars elsewhere on the rec at a later date.
