Breaking Ground for Playscape
Satisfying progress was made for the Playscape project last month when the PC got the crucial Feast Services underway. This great step forward was, however, rather dampened by the discovery of extensive asbestos in the ground and the accompanying costs of dealing with it. You can read more fully about the current situation on the PC website, plus the benefits of these works in the Feast’s article. Importantly, the PC will be commissioning a bore-hole survey, particularly in the wheelscape area, to check for further asbestos, so that we can plan accordingly.
This unforeseen hurdle has meant we’ve not managed to meet to agree the shelter design winner yet, humble apologies, however the wonderful designs of Merry-go-rounds and Knights’ tents mean the shelter will look fabulous soon!
On a positive note we were delighted to receive over £3500 from two Benevity donations, an online workplace giving platform, which includes corporate match funding. So a huge thank you to these generous donors, this is so encouraging and another step towards building a new Playscape for the village!
