Playscape & SSYI Dig for Spring Colour

SSYI digging

On the last Saturday of half-term we met to plant 500 bluebell bulbs in the copse and a range of native plants. Primroses, Wood Sage, Hairy St John’s Wort and Wild Garlic were planted amongst the bluebells and hedgerow plants such as Betony, Red Campion and Upright Hedge Parsley went into the long grass under the trees. The bluebells may be shy to flower in their first year, but the splash of blue should be worth the wait!

Thanks to the grants from the Co-Op and South Cambs Community Chest we can also introduce new crossing points over the ditch: the bridge and stepping stones have been ordered and the PC will be installing them soon.

Drink and Be Merry!

We’ll be serving mulled wine, mince pies and running a barbecue at the Christmas Lights Switch On, Saturday 2nd December from 6pm, so please do come along to support this festive Village event. Have a very Merry Christmas!
